Walkable Community Program

      The San Antonio-Bexar County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) along with its transportation partners offers four services to organizations that request assistance in identifying transportation barriers to having a truly Walkable Community. Transportation partners include Alamo Area Council of Governments, Bexar County , City of San Antonio , Texas Department of Transportation and VIA Metropolitan Transit. The program has been developed through the Bicycle and Pedestrian Mobility Advisory Committees. If you or your community would like to participate in this program please read Walkable Community Program Policy and procedure and fill out Walkable Community Program application.

The four services available include:

•  Walkable Community Workshops

•  Safe Routes to School Workshops

  Safety classes

•  Bicycle rodeos
