The Transportation Policy Board (TPB) is the San Antonio-Bexar County MPO's policy body or board of directors. The TPB is comprised of ten elected and nine appointed officials representing the State, Bexar County, San Antonio, VIA Metropolitan Transit, suburban cities and the Alamo Area Council of Governments.
The TPB meets the fourth Monday of each month (except in December) to oversee the continuous, comprehensive, and cooperative transportation planning process conducted for the metropolitan area. The TPB selects or must approve all transportation projects in the region for federal funding, altogether over $100 million in projects annually.
The TPB is supported by an MPO staff of eight and receives technical advice from the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) , the Bicycle Mobility Advisory Committee (BMAC) and the Pedestrian Mobility Advisory Committee (PMAC).
