MPO Boundary

Currently this is the MPO boundary, but possible expansion of the boundary could occur based on the 2010 census population density data. Currently the MPO boundary is all of Bexar County and pieces of Comal and Guadalupe County.

NEPA and Planning

On January 1, 1970 the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) was signed into Law. NEPA established a national environmental policy intentionally focused on Federal activities and the desire for a sustainable environment balanced with other essential needs of present and future generations of Americans.

The Texas Ecological Assessment Protocol (TEAP) is a planning and screening-level assessment tool that uses existing data available from the statewide GIS grid to identify ecologically important resources throughout Texas. The results of the TEAP can be used in project planning (i.e. scoping, alternatives analysis), to determine appropriate areas to conduct detailed field investigations, and in mitigation discussions to avoid ecologically important areas, minimize impacts to those areas, and compensate for unavoidable impacts. For more information, seehttp://www.epa.gov/region6/6en/xp/enxp2a4.htm .
