Transportation Policy Board
(TPB)

The Transportation Policy Board (TPB) is the San Antonio-Bexar County Metropolitan Planning Organization's (MPO) policy body or board of directors. The TPB is comprised of eleven elected and eight appointed officials representing the State legislative delegation, Alamo Area Council of Governments, Bexar County, the City of San Antonio, Greater Bexar County Council of Cities, Northeast Partnership, Texas Department of Transportation and VIA Metropolitan Transit.
The purpose of the TPB is to oversee the continuous, comprehensive, and cooperative transportation planning process conducted for the metropolitan area. The TPB must approve all transportation projects in the region for federal funding, altogether over $200 million in projects annually. The TPB is supported by an MPO staff of fifteen and receives technical advice from the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) , the Bicycle Mobility Advisory Committee (BMAC), the Pedestrian Mobility Advisory Committee (PMAC), and the Strategic Geospatial Coordination Committee (SGCC).
The Transportation Policy Board generally meets the fourth Monday of the month and meetings are held at the VIA Metro Center Community Room located at 1021 San Pedro.
